Hotel Del Rio

Very relaxing, good view, set up bookings and made it very easy for us.

I was not looking for anything grand when I booked this hotel, nor did I get anything grand. No TV, no A/C. I can get by without such things. Breakfast is modest in the garden, but adequate. Hot water in shower is slow arriving but is there. Beach is a stone throw away but not very elegant as far as beaches go the sargassum weed is a bit of the problem at the moment but not smelling and constantly attended to. Plenty of restaurants and bars in walking reach, rent a golf cart if not up to walking, taxis are cheap.

no pool or bar, the hang out area was nice, view is great. Staff was very nice and accomadating. close to bars and restaurants on the beach: Losers, Palapas, Wayos and Sandy Toes.

The property has a lovely swing outside abd also some hammocks and chairs to lietsit in and watch the ocean. There's a dock in front of the propert with 2 chairs at the end that are perfect for watching sunrise.

Great staff and location. Quiet yet walking distance to the action. BEST shower on the island!

The place is fine. It’s a room. But the shower water smells horrific. It smells like rotting sea grass, which is a problem on the island as it is. I didn’t complain because I figured it was all over the island, but come to find our that it wasn’t. They need to treat the water. Also there was one woman, Fenicia, who was lovely. The rest of the staff always seemed to be bothered by any kind of request. They also would sit and talk all day. The fruit in the morning was nice but they would leave juice out and not clean the container properly so it tasted like dish soap. It was just a lack of car.

I loved the grass hut in the courtyard. Many people gathered there in the evening and visited about their day. It was great conversation and we enjoyed it a lot.

It was a good stay due to the fact that weather was cooler (due to rain one night and less sun) -- nice because there is no air con in the rooms. Just opening the windows and door helped (would have been nice if I could lock the screen door to leave main door open at all times. The office staff is wonderful and attends to all needs and questions/requests. Location could not be better for restaurants and the water. The whole town is walkable so there is no really bad location. Early simple breakfast is a plus although I did not take advantage of it. Hammocks outside are nice as well. I would stay there again.

Very quiet and peaceful at all hours of the day. Staff was very attentative and available. Room was clean and private. Property was welcoming and safe.

Loved the location! Right on the coast; nice dock for watching the sunrise, fun dock bar/restaurants just steps away, pleasant beachside walk to the busier downtown area, 40 minute golf-cart ride to Secret Beach, dive shop 2 docks down, Our palapa was interesting and spacious with comfy beds, frig, drinking water, and wifi. Coffee, fresh fruit and juice, local bread & jam provided each morning, sunny chairs sheltered from the breeze, and shady hammocks for the hot days. Perfect for those seeking 'the island life', rather than a resort vacation. The office staff even organized delivery of a rental golf cart for our exploration day.
