Cardamom Apartment

Perfect location near to some great bars and restaurants - super little apartment with great facilities for a short stay. We used the recommended private transfer from the airport to the apartment which was super efficient. We were met outside on arrival and shown around. All explained including great WiFi network.

The apartment is in an old building where there are large slabs of plaster falling from the public areas ceilings. The apartment stinks of raw sewage coming from all the drains in sinks and shower. There is an old gas fires heater. There is no carbon monoxide or smoke alarms. This place is unsafe and despite asking for another apartment which was ignored the headache I suffered due to the foul smell made it a very unpleasant stay and I felt unsafe. The other apartments in the courtyard have heavy security grills and burglar alarms, this apartment did not. One alarm in another apartment went off and lasted about 1 hour of noise. So my advice is avoid this apartment which also makes me mistrust Souper Apartments who own this one and many others in Budapest. An awful experience and incredible lack of basic safety features out with the awful smell. I responded to there checkin email expressing my views and requested another apartment but this was completely ignored. They request a response to this email to fix any problems so that you will score them 100% in social media, well no, as I say I would avoid these apartments offered by Souper Apartments Budapest.

Love the apartment, cosy and clean. The location is great surrounding with restaurants and clubs.

Loved this place! It's perfect for a single traveller, couple or possibly three close friends (the couch converts to another bed). It's a studio with a loft bed but feels exceptionally spacious due to the high ceilings. Unlike many other vacation rental apartments, this one has furniture in great condition and is exceptionally clean. It also has all the little things you need that are often overlooked--like soap, sponges, extra towels, salt and pepper etc. And I was super impressed with the hot water and could take my usual indulgent N. American-style hot shower with no problem--a rarity in Europe, I think :) Location-wise, you really couldn't do better. It's in the heart of the Jewish quarter but not noisy at all. The building has history charm but modern amenities (read: elevator). The apartment itself is equipped with everything modern too--new washing machine, AC, heating, faultlessly working locks etc. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Great location and great price. The apartment was located close to lots of good bars (e.g ruin bars) and walkable (or close to public transport) to all the sites of interest in Budapest. The only negative is that late at night there was some noise from neighbouring accommodation when people came back in late at night but I guess you have ti accept that being located where it is.
