We stayed here for our first 3 nights in Costa Rica. Carlos and Werner were fantastic hosts. They offered advice for our daily activities, were very warm and welcoming, and if you're hesitating on taking the breakfast, DO IT! The B&B is located in a safe neighbourhood and a short drive to the bank, sodas and gas station. If you have a car, it is a beautiful drive to La fortuna and to Monteverde from their location. Highly recommend ! - Alex and Lucas

Great hidden gem

We booked this place as a halfway point between La Fortuna & Monteverde for only one night, which we regretted because this place is great! The online photos don’t do it justice. We booked the Superior King Room. The owners, Werner and Carlos, did a fantastic job with their home renovation. Details were definitely not overlooked when they set this up as a high value Airbnb. From the awesome freestanding bathtub to the high quality bath towels, this was a perfect place to relax and enjoy a long hot shower & bath for my wide & I. The shower area featured a rainfall shower head and a regular shower head with plenty of hot water for us to use. The bathroom included a toilet stool, individual toothpaste tubes & mouthwash on their their double vanity. We also loved the separate super soft makeup towels & cute toothbrush holders. The bedroom had a super comfy couch, a huge TV (80” I think) and a super comfy bed with equally comfy pillows. It gave access to a patio/balcony area with a seating area and a small fridge. Because we drove their at night, we had no idea how beautiful Lake Arenal is so we woke up to a surprisingly beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountainside. This is where we both knew we would regret not staying longer but we had plans already set. The owners also gave us great activity recommendations also. We will def stay here again, hopefully sooner than later

Its a great stop in Costa Rica! If your on the fence about staying here...just pick it. You wont regret it. Clean, comfortable, and quite honestly the best breakfast you could hope for. Also, your hosts will offer the best advice for activities and help you book them! What more could you ask for?

Best place in Costa Rica , and we are at our 4th stop. Room was excellent, breakfast by Carlos great and different every day. Werner (also an owner) was our guide for several days and was a wealth of information. These 2 are born for the hospitality business, truly caring people, we felt like family, and we were treated as such. Lake Arenal has little access due to the "ICE" ownership of the entire shoreline, but there are some places to access the water and various water activities . The weather was not cooperative, but we still enjoyed our stay and visited many of the areas and attractions there. The town is small , but has lots of good choices to eat If you have any interest in Lake Arenal, don't stay anywhere else!

We can't say enough about how spectacular the B&B is and how wonderful our stay was. Our hosts, Warner and Carlos, greeted us at our car and welcomed us into their home/B&B. We felt as though we were staying in a 5 Star hotel. The breakfasts were elegant/amazing and wonderful tasting. Carlos is an amazing cook. Warner and Carlos had many ideas for how to spend our time in the area as well as providing tidbits of information to help the visiting traveler. Their suggestions for dining in the area and activities proved spot-on every time. It was well worth staying 45 minutes outside of La Fortuna in their spectacular B&B.

Carlos and Werner couldn’t be more welcoming. Great location for many activities. Accommodation was as described and more. Breakfast - definitely book breakfast - absolutely scrumptious. Hosts went out of their way to help with restaurants, bookings for activities and routes for our journeys. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely book for longer next time we visit.

Highly recommend for a comfortable stay

My husband and I had a wonderful three night stay at Casa Donna Rosa. The room was well appointed with a huge TV, fluffy towels and a stunning panoramic view of the lake. The B&B is in a beautiful part of the country and has a few nice restaurants to choose from. We did not have a car and were able to walk to town for food. Carlos and Werner are friendly and accommodating hosts. We much appreciated the transport to the airport and recommendations for local attractions and dining. They also serve a filling, five star breakfast we will be longing for when we return home.
