Aria Plaka Residence

Amazing location and beautiful apartment. Rooftop and view are exceptional. Could use some small - really tiny repairs. Would absolutely stay there again!!!

This charming boutique guesthouse is right in the middle of Plaka. Make no mistake, this is a WHOLE house with a rooftop terrace! Walking distances to restaurants and major sights like the Acropolis. The staff are friendly and attentive to your needs. This amazing restaurant called Scholarhio is right on your doorsteps. The highlight is the terrace - perfect for a romantic dinner under the Acropolis! Highly recommmded!

The residence is in the middle of the west side of Plaka, with dramatic rooftop views of the Acropolis and the large Greek flag flown there--so close that the Parthenon and other buildings are obscured by the steep cliff and wall. The rooftop patio is accessible via steep spiraling stairs off back of residence. The residence includes two bedrooms--one with en suite on the bottom floor (downstairs), and the 2nd on the entry floor with adjoining bathroom. The living space is up one floor and seats 5-6 in a small living area plus a dining table for 4 and smallish kitchen. The residence has two air conditioning units to keep cool and rooftop breezes for outdoor viewing across the Plaka and dramatic Acropolis cliffs. My Google Maps noted just 740 m walk to the entrance of the Parthenon (up and around the hill toward the north) and the same to the Parthenon museum (around the hill to the south). The location is ideal for shopping in the Plaka, with its many pedestrian walkways and shops, as well as for accessibility to Athenian historical sites. Arriving late, we dined across the street at the Scholarhio for scrumptious Greek food. Many dozens of other eateries are within just a few blocks walking. We bought minimal groceries nearby (fruits/drinks) and brought back pastries each morning from Lulu's bakery down the block. The kids enjoyed nightly gelato and, although the residence had a fully equipped kitchen for eating at home, we largely enjoyed many Plaka outdoor dining options.
