The Dog & Partridge by Greene King Inns

Room was dusty as if it needed a good spring clean and on arrival there was sweaty wrappings on floor. Bathroom rails dusty and room was far to hot. Tried to turn heating down but the control knob was only placed on so it just lifted off. Sweltered all night.

Nice room in a friendly run pub. Loverly breakfast in the morning to start your day.

Everything was great and we were lucky to find and get a parking space at the pub so our only warning would be to look out for parking at the back of the hotel because they don’t mention it and as it’s all one way streets it’s not easy to find unless you know it’s there.

Room was very dated, stayed for two nights and our room was not cleaned at all, the bins were not even emptied. Carpet was filthy and shower recess mouldy. Don't Stay here, Next time we are in Bury St Edmunds we won't be.

Staff and proprietor were very friendly and helpful, food excellent bed very comfortable absolutely no complaints. Very well done 👍

The Dog & Partridge is a lovely, characterful pub. We stayed for two nights and ate there as the food was delicious and the menu had plenty of choice. Our room was comfortable with one of the best showers we have experienced! The icing on the cake was the wonderful staff - all friendly, professional, helpful and a credit to the business. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with them and would definitely return if in the area. Recommended!

Fantastic, accomodating staff, comfortable bed and a fabulous cooked breakfast. Great value and at a higher standard than I expected for the price.

I stayed in room 7, a spacious and well decorated room at the front of the building. The room was warm but I felt happy to sleep with the windows open, although there was some white noise from the brewery next door. The staff were friendly and food good with a classic English breakfast on offer. I had friends staying in rooms at the back of the building who suffered with noise from the beer garden behind the pub. The pub and hotel are in a great location for exploring the town, with the abbey a very short walk from the door.

Nice place to stay. Friendly landlord. Will stay here again.

We accidentally booked this property just after midnight and didn't realize that it populated for the next day. We arrived at the Inn about an hour later and called them to check in. They said that they had no more check ins scheduled for the day and that they had been fully booked for quite some time. We ended up having to sleep on a friend's futon for the night...definitely not our top choice. I called Expedia the next day and after reaching out to this Inn, they said a refund could not be provided. You only get a refund if you cancel within 72 hours of your stay. I called the Inn itself and the agent offered to have their GM call me...he never did. So by being greedy and keeping £91, they have guaranteed we will NEVER attempt to stay at their Inn or even go to their restaurant ever again....and we make trips to the area monthly. Be REALLY careful when booking this property because if you make a mistake or if unpredictable life happens, you will not get your money back. Book somewhere that's more flexible, there are plenty of other options available, don't make this mistake.
