This is an establishment with a special soul, since it has been a place of lodging and hospitality for almost 150 years, and it has made sure to honor and conserve all that invaluable past in the excellent, modern version that it is now offering to its guests.
You can feel that wonderful past, everywhere in the building. It is also reflected in the flawless behavior of the members of the staff.
The young ladies at the Reception will really made us feel as if we are in your home, or visiting some relatives… The one in charge of the breakfast, the same. A maintenance lady whom we encountered was also very helpful, with a large smile on her face.
Btw, you must use the stairs, at least once (on your way down, if you worry about your knees…). Do it slowly, looking at all the history of this wonderful place, integrated to its tasteful décor. It will make you feel warm and peaceful, in your mind and in your heart.
This hotel is also very well located, at the heart of Zurich's Old Town.
It is clean, quiet, very well managed and operated.
The rooms are fairly priced. And do not waste time in the morning, going out to look for some other place to have your breakfast, if it is not included in the price of your room. The breakfast offered by this hotel is high quality. It has a very nice and generous self-service section, plus an excellent service for the à-la-carte preparation of your omelet.
Staying in this hotel increased our enjoyment of the beautiful city of Zurich.
