you get what you pay for
Wyndham has purchased this hotel, but done absolutely NOTHING to improve the quality of the hotel. It is more run down than it ever was before when it was just the Chicago South Loop Hotel (not the Wyndham Chicago Mccormick Hotel). The people who work at the hotel are wonderful. They are professional, kind, helpful, and caring. The general infrastructure is just old and things need to be replaced or updated like carpeting, paint on walls, and fitness center equipment. In the fitness center, only one of the two treadmills worked. The lights were also set on motion sensors, so they would turn off after about a minute if they didn't sense movement. The way the equipment was placed, if you were on a treadmill or other equipment at one side of the room (not too large of a room either), the sensors didn't pick you up, so you'd end up working out in the dark. It was okay because there were big windows on two of the walls, so some light would still get it, but it was not an ideal situation.
