After checking in, I put my suitcase in the room and went to supper. Upon returning from supper, I found 3 cockroaches in an otherwise clean and neat room.
I notified the front desk, in person, and the clerk offered me another room. I accepted the new room.
The new room was clean and neat but lacked overhead lighting. The only lighting in the room was next to the bed.
The light switch inside the door did not turn on any lights. Since I entered this room after dark, I had to leave the door open to get enough outside light to see inside and locate a light inside the room that turned on (that light was next to the bed. The switch was under that light.)
The lack of a light to turn on before entering a room after dark is not safe.
Fortunately, I did not have any roaches in this room.
Overall, my stay was ok.
