We stayed at The Bay Hotel & Suites with two young children and unfortunately our experience fell well below expectations.
We booked a Senior Suite with Garden View based on the description and photographs advertised, but the initial room was materially different and raised genuine safety concerns. The advertised bathtub did not exist, the shower area was extremely slippery and our son slipped twice on the first day. The balcony opened directly onto a busy parking area with virtually no barrier or privacy, making it unsuitable for a family travelling with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old.
After complaining, we were told nothing was available for the first night. The following morning we were moved to another room, only to discover there was no working air conditioning, TV or telephone, forcing us to move for a second time. We spent a large part of our holiday packing, unpacking and waiting for rooms and maintenance instead of enjoying our stay.
Although the final room was much better, the disruption had a significant impact on our holiday. The hotel offered only half the cost of one dinner despite the considerable inconvenience.
The location is lovely and many staff were pleasant, but the inaccurate room descriptions and poor handling of these issues were extremely disappointing and not what we expected for the price paid.
