Disappointed by Lack of Flexibility for Families
We recently stayed at Bakers Cay for a family trip with my wife and our 3-year-old. While the resort itself is beautiful and well-maintained, our experience was unfortunately marred by a lack of flexibility and hospitality — especially considering it’s a family-oriented destination.
Upon check-in, we were assigned a 1st-floor room with a balcony facing a busy walkway. Knowing our toddler is a light sleeper, I politely asked if we could be moved to a quieter room on a higher floor or facing a different side. The front desk flatly said no — no alternatives offered, no effort to accommodate.
After a rough night with our toddler waking up frequently, we asked for just a one-hour late checkout to help ease the morning — again, the answer was no, citing 98% occupancy. It felt transactional and dismissive, not the level of service you expect at a resort of this caliber.
We had high hopes, and while the setting is great, the lack of empathy or willingness to assist really took away from the experience. I’d recommend the hotel consider more thoughtful service for families traveling with young children. Sometimes, small gestures make the biggest difference.
