Top neighborhoods in Cave Creek

Downtown Cave Creek

Downtown Cave Creek celebrates the Old West spirit with historic saloons, art galleries, and Western shops lining its dusty thoroughfare. You can stroll past weathered wooden facades, browse Native crafts, or hike the Black Mountain Trail for desert vistas. Rancho Manana Golf Club offers scenic greens while local museums showcase the area's gold mining past. Southwestern cuisine dominates the food scene with steakhouses and cantinas serving mesquite-grilled specialties. Boutique Western-themed hotels and desert resorts provide comfortable lodging with pools and desert views. A car is essential for getting around, though the downtown core itself is easily walkable.

Tatum Ranch

Tatum Ranch delivers a taste of upscale Arizona suburban living without the tourist crowds. Golfers can tee off at nearby Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club while nature lovers explore Cave Creek Regional Park's desert landscapes. The neighborhood's wide streets and Southwestern architecture create a peaceful backdrop for morning walks with views of the Sonoran mountains. Dining options cluster in nearby strip centers, offering American fare with Southwestern flair. Most travelers stay in spacious vacation rentals with private pools rather than hotels. A car is essential for getting around this residential community, but the trade-off is authentic desert tranquility away from Phoenix's urban bustle.

Desert Foothills North

Desert Foothills North offers a peaceful escape with stunning Sonoran Desert views and luxury living. This residential haven features custom homes with resort-style amenities set against a backdrop of saguaro cacti and mountain vistas. Hiking enthusiasts can explore nearby trails, while golfers have easy access to Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club and other courses. Getting around requires a personal vehicle, as public transit is limited in this tranquil neighborhood. Dining options are scarce within the area—most visitors drive to Cave Creek or Scottsdale for restaurants. Accommodations primarily consist of high-end vacation rentals with private pools perfect for stargazing in the desert silence.

Tatum Highlands

Tatum Highlands offers a peaceful desert retreat away from Phoenix's urban bustle. Spacious homes with private pools line quiet streets perfect for morning walks with mountain views. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore nearby Phoenix Sonoran Desert Preserve's scenic hiking trails or enjoy Cave Buttes Recreation Area. When you're ready for shopping and dining, Desert Ridge Marketplace is just a short drive away. Getting around requires a car, but the trade-off is worth it for the genuine suburban Phoenix lifestyle and breathtaking desert sunsets. Vacation rentals provide family-friendly amenities at better value than downtown hotels. This residential neighborhood gives you room to spread out while still keeping city attractions within reach.

Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak

2/10 Terrible
"This "resort" is an utter dump. It's cracked, peeling, fading, broken, battered and abused. It feel like they sucked 50 years of profits out of it and never put a dime back in. I spent 2 nights, the first room I was in was coated in 30 years of cigarette smoke, baked into every surface. I had to sleep with all the windows and patio door open to even be able to breath. Because of that I was woken at 6am to find that I was in an active construction zone, yelling, hammering, trucks moving and dumping, anything but relaxing. They should have shut down the entire wing I was in during it. I requested a different room for my second night and while it was slightly better, every other outlet was broken. I only randomly woke up on time because my phone didn't charge. The water took what seemed like hours to heat up. Bottom line, this is a Hitlon. My expectations for a stay here were vastly higher than what was delivered."

"The pools were nice but not as clean as I would have hoped. Maintenance maintained shrubs and trees around the pools and then blew the cut ups with a high-powered air blower, some of which ended up on and in the water but that was never cleaned within the 5 days we spent. We still enjoyed the sun and the water, but management should consider making some changes here."

"We looked at many hotels in the area. This one was actually the better deal for the night.(There is a fee for parking) They extended some offers to extend our stay so we stayed another night. Mind you we stayed here off season so that might have played a role in it. (March 5th and 6th) We have a 16, 17, 18 and 19 yr old. We got the family suite with two queen beds and a pull out. It accommodated us all. It was claen and the queen beds were very comforable. The water park was an added bonus. Lots of indoor and outdoor space. I was suorised our teenagers spent 4 hr here. I thought because of their ages it would be a shorter time. One night for teenagers would be suffice for the waterpark. We went offsite for meals. I would suggest this Hotel. "

Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale, Curio Collection by Hilton

6/10 Okay
"Very beautiful property that needs some staff training and some love for the food & beverage options. - Upon arrival, it would be great for the valets to park your car instead of adding one more step to check-in that you have to self-park and meet the valet's golf cart with your luggage. PHX airport is a haul, and after schlepping our luggage through there, it just would have been nice to have one less step that was avoidable. - We had a painful almost 6 hour golf round that no one mentioned you had zero access to the clubhouse until we were on our way to the tee. You cannot have that design and not tell players when they check in to grab some food and beverage. The starters thanked us many times for our patience with the slow groups in front of us, but honestly, we were sooo hungry by the end of it, it sucked. - Food & beverage at the resort just needs to be leveled up . There is coffee in the lobby (no tea) which is about the equivalent of a Best Western, but there is a gorgeous espresso machine in the bar right next to it that they don't offer any morning drinks from. The place needs a coffee/tea shop. Every meal we had something major missing. One breakfast, missing a bagel from the smoked salmon bagel. One room service, no silverware/butter/salt or pepper. Its so close, but there is no QA on anything, and unfortunately, it affected us multiple times. - Marcella at the pool was great! She handled a large crowd well and offered great service."
