The hotel is beginning to show its age. The elevators didn’t all work all of the time, there was water damage around exterior windows, things are peeling on the walls, etc.
The receptionist, while admitting it was her first day, checked us in but didn’t actually give us our keys nor tell us which room we were in. We had to ask her for that after she said “You’re all checked in. Have a great night” and turned to walk away. Bless her heart, she must have just been overwhelmed. We actually giggled about it.
Not the hotels fault, but we were woken at 6:00 am by the room next door getting into a physical altercation. They were fighting so fiercely that our wall and bed shook during the scuffle. We called the front desk to ask for security, but no one ever came upstairs. The fighting and yelling continued off and on for almost two hours. In the hotel room and the hallway/elevator corridors.
That single experience was awful enough that we won’t go back. The only reason we like this hotel is because of the location and the balcony option.
