We chose this place as we prefer to support locally-owned businesses where possible. We regret this decision. Even though the room description was very misleading ie. not at all deluxe and with a SHARED bathroom, we decided to stay as it had been a long day travelling. In response to Expedia prompting us for a review of our stay we noted that the restaurant food was cold (we alerted the restaurant staff of this issue directly), and that the room description was inaccurate. In response to this review the male owner came to our room banging on the door at 9pm saying that we should leave if we’re not happy and he’ll tell Expedia you’ll get a refund. We’ve never experienced such appalling behaviour from an Innkeeper ever before. We were in our pyjamas quietly reading in our room listening to the live music downstairs (you can hear it even from upstairs at the back of the place) before he banged on the door and proceeded to berate us in an aggressive manner about the constructive review we had given. The other female owner joined her partner to continue to berate us about the review. We wish we had read the similar poor reviews beforehand as we would not have booked to stay here.
Of note unfortunately I developed food poisoning overnight from eating at the restaurant. Their food practices need to be carefully examined.
