We have been here many times. We always have a good time. We invited another couple along and they enjoyed it too.
Notes:
1. When I booked, they warned us that the wonderful pool would be closed for repairs until late October. We were going to be there in November. About a week before our arrival we got a notice that the pool would now be closed during our visit. The pool is one of the main reasons why we stay here, but it was too late for us to change our plans. We understand that things change with work of this type, but should the property be charging a hefty “resort fee” if a main resort facility is not available?
2. I reserved a double queen ADA room but we decided to change to a king ADA room with a sofa bed, which would be on the pet friendly patio level for a slightly higher rate. When we checked in they informed us that there were no rooms of this type available (even though the hotel was basically empty) but they could put a rollaway in the room, which was fine, except for the fact that the rollaway blocked the patio door, which was why they were putting us on that level in the first place! It didn’t really matter because the door was so hard to open that it wasn’t useable anyway. Which leads me to:
3. The property is showing its age. The hallways show a lot of wear and tear, some furnishings are dated and worn, there are many doors that do not open or close properly, etc.
We hope that they can renew the resort to keep it as special as in the past.
