Sleepless in NOLA
The hotel lobby is beautiful, the outdoor pool area is gorgeous, employees are friendly and courteous but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. We had to move from the 1st floor to another room on the 3rd floor after the first night due to the shower flooding the entire floor in the handicap accessible bathroom. Also, a handicap rail beside the toilet blocked the tissue roll. In order to use the tissue, the rail had to be lifted and held up by hand while using toilet since it did not lock into place. This is not a good thing if you have shoulder issues. The room we were moved into was better as far as the shower but was next to the elevator which sounded like a dying cow every time the elevator was used. The music from Bourbon O'Bar downstairs was so loud that we could not sleep until the music ended at midnight. Although the hotel is supposedly 100% smoke free, there was the smell of cigarette smoke from other rooms. The walls are very thin and we could clearly hear conversations in the next room. Fortunately, there were no scandals or state secrets discussed.
