I called 4 times after booking, starting over a month in advance. Every time I called, I advised I’d be a late check in. I was assured by each person that would not be a problem at all. Then on the day of my stay, my flight was delayed and the line for budget rental was nearly 3 hours long. Exhausted and frustrated, I finally arrived at the hotel ready to sleep only to be told that I could not be checked in because the system wouldn’t allow it. Not one person advised me there was a hard cut off for checking in, though I called 4 times letting them know my plane was landing after midnight. So I left after requesting a refund and drove an additional hour, thankfully finding a Holiday Inn that checked us in so we could sleep a little that morning at a discounted rate. This was a horrible experience and nobody I’ve told this story to could believe that a hotel would turn away guests for a room that was already paid for.
