This is a low end motel (not a hotel). I selected it because I thought it was walking distance from the train station. It was a long walk - maybe 30 minutes - through a knarley part of town (the wrong side of the river). Decent restaurants are a 30-minute walk back across the river to the Riverwalk, or a taxi ride ($10-$12 one way).
The room was basic - TV, small fridge, microwave and bed. Bathroom was minimal (soap, no shampoo). No Internet. I heard the neighbor's TV well after I turned out my lights at 12:00. I was next to the office so after a certain point, I concluded it must be the office TV, not another guests. Not too thoughtful.
Next door is the Gold Club. It's for "gentlemen."
Check in took about 5 minutes as the desk clerk entered my details into a computer, scanned my driver's license and credit card. I was told to bolt my door when I was inside my room.
I spent $65 for the room and was in it for about 9 hours, so it was tolerable, but I wouldn't even think about it under any other circumstances.
