Accusatory and Hostile - Flies in Room
When I arrived, I asked to upgrade. They said I could for $50/night. I was there with my sister so we told them that would be great to have more room and asked if they had any rooms available with two queens instead of our booked king. They said yes. We arrived in the room, and the space was smaller than it would've been in the king room. I wish they had told me that but decided it was fine. We got all unpacked but kept finding baby flies everywhere...we killed 6 and when I went to take a shower, there was a 7th that came out of my folded towel. At that point, we needed a new room. I called down and was met with extreme hostility, where they told me since I had entered the room that I would still have to pay for the $50 upgrade fee for the night. I questioned that and she finally gave in, but it was clear she thought I was trying to just get a bigger room. We were met with hostility to move our bags, they wouldn't leave until we found our e-keys from the previous room (don't those just get disabled?) and we were put into a room that had a door that led to another guest room. Normally that would have a lock on our side and their side, but this was just a locked door...nothing to keep the other person from coming if if they could open it from their side. We inquired about this and they made it very clear that they were annoyed we would ask. We were told only a security guard could open it. While we were still uncomfortable, we had been shamed so much that we just stayed.
