The BEST part of this hotel is the genius branding through their marketing, pictures and website. The location is odd...pretty hard to find and NO signs--situated in a back alley practically under a major highway. It appears that this was an old hotel that has been repurposed into today's rendition. Our room "looked" nice, but after a closer look we could see painter's tape, drywall dust, remnants of remodeling, etc. It's like they did a decor update and called it a "new" hotel. Our bathroom wasn't clean...and wondered when the last guest stayed in this room? Road noise, dingy room, stains on the couch, bad breakfast: Not what we had in mind for our stay.
We did enjoy all the artwork in the hallway and all the design elements in the public areas. Perhaps shifting the focus away from trendy lobby art, furniture and decor and moving it towards quality, comfortable, fresh pieces in the actual ROOM would be a better choice. We also were so thankful that IHOP was in proximity.... because the hotel's breakfast was inedible. After two sleeps we were SO ready to pack out and head back home.
