When I arrived with a confirmed reservation from Expedia, I was told there was no more room at the inn. That's it. Sorry, we don't have a room. I was told that somehow my reservation with Expedia did not "come through" despite having the confirmation in hand.
My driver had left by that point, so after a long day of travel and no luggage, I was just left standing there with a reservation in hand and no place to stay.
Finally my colleague had the good sense to ask them to make me a reservation elsewhere and transport me for free. They tried to make me a reservation at a "cheaper" nearby hotel that I knew nothing about. I declined and asked for the Sunbird, where I have stayed before and at least I know. They called their driver and did not tell him the ride was on the house. When he dropped me off, he asked me to pay, which I also declined, but did tip him.
I am unhappy that they shrugged off a reservation and made NO effort to find me a room at their own hotel or elsewhere. You'd think they would have a protocol for when they screw up like this. The manager was less help than the original staff member. Very officious at letting me know that nope - no rooms, and yup - that is a legit reservation. So who gets the 0 - Expedia or this place?
