Safe
Safe is the word I would use on this hotel.
I have traveled around the world and always seem to end up in a Mariott hotel at some point during my travels - and this time it was at the Courtyard by Mariott in Santiago.
On this trip I had rented a car and had driven all the way down to Patagonia, where I had slept in the car because I couldn't find any hotels on the way.
I had therefore decided when I was going back to Sandiago that I should have a good hotel with a pool, so that I could relax for a few days before my trip continued.
The hotel did not disappoint in any way, I got a nice and clean and large double room even though I was traveling alone.
The room gave me a good view of the city on the horizon and the room was on the 5th floor.
The hotel had a small but functional pool with sun loungers, where you could get towels by the pool and you didn't have to bring your own towel from the room.
The hotel restaurant offered breakfast included in the price of the room - and otherwise you could buy lunch and dinner for a reasonable price. I spent $58 in 2 days, which I think is improbably cheap - and the food is of a good standard - I also got soda/beer and coffee included in that price.
The hotel is located outside Santiago itself, but a 7-minute taxi ride or your own car to the airport.
The security is enormous at the hotel, and the hotel itself is shielded by a large fence with barbed wire on top of the fence. Everywhere in the hotel you get the feeling tha
