Mary Hotel, Alanya – A deeply disappointing and fr
We booked 5 rooms for 10 people at Mary Hotel in Alanya. Prior to our arrival, we called the hotel to inform them that two guests would leave halfway through the stay and two others would take their place. The hotel confirmed over the phone that this was no problem.
However, when we arrived, the hotel had not prepared the 5 rooms as promised. Instead, we were given fewer rooms, and several of us had to share rooms or beds, even though we had paid for separate accommodations.
When the time came for two guests to leave and two new ones to arrive – exactly as agreed in advance – the hotel suddenly refused to allow the change unless we paid an additional €1,740, with no extra room or service provided. This was completely unreasonable and felt dishonest.
Furthermore, we experienced major issues with the service during our entire stay.
• There was always a lack of cutlery in the restaurant, and if you arrived even just 30 minutes after dinner started, the selection of food was very limited.
• In the evenings, it often took a very long time to receive drinks, even when the restaurant or bar was not particularly busy.
• The staff spoke very poor English, and the reception employees were often rude, impatient, and unhelpful, making communication difficult and unpleasant.
Overall, our experience at Mary Hotel was stressful, frustrating, and far from what we were promised. Poor communication, broken agreements, and low service standards
