There are two hotels in Senj - this one and one other. It looked a bit run-down from the outside, but the location was good and it suited our needs. The hotel is right next to the water but it backs up to a big parking lot, so you might hear road/car noise through the night. There was no AC in the room, just a ceiling fan, but we were fine with just the fan and the window open to the ocean air. We got a real metal key for the room in this hotel, and you had to lock yourself into the room in order to lock the door. In case of a fire or emergency, this action is problematic from a life safety standpoint, since there is no other way out. This is a no-frills kind of place - mismatched old towels and some utilitarian furniture - but it was charming, in its own way. The front desk personnel were helpful and recommended several local restaurants. There is a Super Konzum (grocery store) within walking distance for snacks and water, or picking up items for dinner. Senj is blessed/cursed with the bura winds, like Karlobag and Seline, so wear a hat or give up on your hair looking like anything other than a windswept disaster. Fortress Nehaj was incredible and deserves a long visit. There are a ton of tourists passing through this area, but it's worth more than a quick stop on the way to somewhere else.
