We were disappointed with our recent stay. Upon arrival, there was no greeting or welcome from the front desk staff. After checking in, we were only told how to access our room—no information was given about the fitness center, WiFi, or nearby dining options.
While the room itself was clean and comfortable, we had specifically booked this hotel for the spa and rooftop, which turned out to be under construction—something not mentioned anywhere on the website. That lack of transparency really soured the experience.
We also dined at the hotel restaurant, Umbra, and asked to have the fire pit turned on next to us, only to find out it wasn’t working. Small details like that added up and made the stay feel lackluster.
Had we known key amenities were unavailable, we would’ve gladly paid a bit more to stay elsewhere. This review is not aimed at Hotels.com, but we hope it can be passed along to Canopy so they can improve the guest experience—especially for those visiting Minneapolis for the first time.
