Casablanca is in general a wonderful place to stay! Great pool, gorgeous landscaping, clean, friendly staff. Beachfront location excellent, away from downtown so more laid back (but NOT a long walk from downtown, Sayulita is not big). Nice restaurants close if you don't feel like walking a little longer to downtown. Rooms spacious, air-con works great, nice lounge area, kitchens, verandas. BUT NOTE: get a room that is NOT on the lowest ground floors!!! The first room we were in was a "Suite type C" and was on a ground floor. Lounge area in the "C" suites do not have actual windows or doors that close, just drapes. We were in Sayulita in August (rainy, humid, hot, mosquito-y season), and we could not use the lounge area because of the mosquitos! The bedrooms did have screened windows, air-con, locks. But for the amount we were paying I wanted to be able to sit in the lounge area, but couldn't. Also, ground floor rooms very dark and never really get much light at any time of day, so MAKE SURE to get a 2nd or 3rd story room. We did ask to be moved and had to get 2 rooms (two Suite type As since we were 2 adults, 2 teenage boys). We had to pay extra, but they did give us a "break". Much better! These rooms also had screened windows and front doors that lock (one caveat about security: veranda doors and windows do not lock so if that bothers you, this is not the place for you). There are safes for valuables, we had no issues. Great place overall but don't stay on the ground floor!
