"A very pleasant stay. Friendly staff and good service. Continental breakfast was good though light for my taste. Loved the history of the hotel which gave it an added dimension. Would stay again.

"This hotel is great value for money, no frills but if you're ok with that its worth a stay. A few idiosyncrasies, couldnt get any BBC channels the hotel tv system and the room layout was a bit all over the place. Another big plus is free parking."

"The hotel staff were very good, the room clean & beds good. We had a good night with undisturbed sleep & a hearty breakfast. The hotel building is in need of some TLC though, threadbare/frayed stair carpets, the chair in our room needed reupholstering, paint work, woodwork & door frames particularly at suitcase height were bashed & chipped. The overall impression is good though - clean & pleasant smelling, but on closer inspection it is tired & needs refreshing."
