Depends on your late evening plans
This is a great hotel if you are a patron of the late night party scene in Reykjavik.
it faces the small square, while the main drag of nightclubs, restaurants and bars stretch out beyond the view from your room. the good thing is, if you are not one to close the clubs down, but want get back to your room with some time to spare, this is the perfect hotel. You can literally crawl from the clubs past the police paddy wagons (waiting for their late night regimen rounding up the drunks and troublemakers screaming into the night) to your hotel just across the square. Now, if you want to watch the very end of the evening from the privacy of your hotel room, perfect, here you are. You can feel and hear the thumping music from the clubs until 3AM or so, your windows will vibrate, you are practically back at the club! They shoot off fireworks till almost 4AM, so it really is the city of light up North. We had to take a very early taxi to the Bus Station on our way out of town, and the hotel is perfectly situated near the rows of taxis waiting to take the late night crowd home. So we just hopped in one and went to the bus station with no traffic worries.
