Le Grand Action is in the heart of the Paris city centre, and has shown the best in Parisian cinema for more than 50 years. Before that, the historic building was a ballroom assembly hall and even a small, single-room cinema in the early days of film during the early 20th century.
It changed over to a modern cinema in 1970 before its purchase by the Action Group in 1980, when it took on its current form as a 2-screen multiplex. Today it shows the best in local French and world film as well as the biggest American Hollywood blockbusters.

Highlights of Le Grand Action
Le Grand Action is a modern cinema with 2 screening rooms. The first is the Henri Langlois room, dedicated to the founder of French Cinema. It offers 239 tiered seats, a 10-metre panoramic screen, and can run 35mm, 70mm and 2K digital cinema prints of movies. The second room is the Henri Ginet room, which features a 7-metre screen with 99 seats, capable of 35mm or 2K digital cinema.
Besides the screening rooms, the Grand Action also features a bar area where you can grab a cocktail and snacks. This room is called the Grand Bar and features portraits of some of the greatest actors in history.
Good to know about Le Grand Action
Le Grand Cation is a modern theatre and ticket prices are about average for a theatre of its calibre. They offer and accept a variety of movie club memberships. Call ahead to find out if your membership will be accepted. People can rent auditoriums for private viewing and events.
Only the Henri Ginet room and Le Grand Bar are accessible for people with disabilities and people with reduced mobility. While service animals are generally welcome, this is not a pet-friendly facility, so it's best to leave your dog behind when you come to see a movie here.
