We went to La Sosta for the food - dinner was brilliant, best modern Italian food we have had outside of Italy. Chefs both talented and skilled, but service in restaurant slow and a bit frenetic. As an experience, awkward check in - arrived and found staff all having lunch, not really ready for us. Room apparently newly renovated, but very basic, small and cluttered and facing the road so needed to keep windows closed. No clear common area to sit and read or relax except for outside area, but it was cold and rainy. So we went on a 2 hour drive to Route 62 to get away from the room. Not ideal. During dinner we were asked to complete a form to pre-order breakfast and to give a time for this, we indicated 08:00. The next morning while packing the car, we discovered that we had an issues and decided to leave 15 mins earlier to get to George to fix this before our long trip to Graff-Reniet. We went to the breakfast room, there was no staff member present, there was no coffee and no breakfast had been prepared. So we left. About 30 mins later we called reception and the front of house person told us he was in Stellenbosch so had not noticed us leave. Rather disappointing, so go to La Sosta for dinner, but don't stay there.
