Avoid this hotel
Fraud occurred through this hotel’s employees! Please avoid this hotel at all costs or it could cost you $1000 that you have to spend your precious time to get refunded. I booked through hotels.com because I trust hotels.com but when I got to the hotel, the hotel required a card on file for incidentals. Our stay was for ONE pre-cruise night; flying into the Miami airport and getting an Uber to Atwell suites, we ate dinner in the lobby bar, stayed for one evening, departing the next morning for our cruise ship at 11 AM. I came home to find almost $1000 had since been charged to my card so I called the hotel who insisted I had extended my stay for more nights. I insisted that I could prove I was on a cruise ship in the middle of the Caribbean when they said I was in their hotel room. The customer service representative Ray was very rude and has no business working in customer service if that’s the best he can do at faking being courteous, which makes me question his direct involvement in the fraud! There was no reason for him to be so defensive and insist that I was at their hotel when I could prove that I wasn’t. My husband called back and Manager Ashley handled it quickly and efficiently and recognized the fraud had occurred on the hotel’s end. This should never have happened!
When we checked in, the desk person had to physically go up and make sure no one was in the room, which I found odd, but I now understand this is a problem that occurs at this hotel!
