No value for money
For the money that is charged, we expected quite a lot more actual luxury in this hotel.
First of all, the experience of arriving at the hotel was very frustrating. If you arrive in Venice late at night, make sure you are well organized and have checked how exactly to get there. The hotel is down a very narrow and dark alley and there are no signs whatsoever to indicate where to go.
We booked a Luxury Room with canal View, however the view was not of the Canal Grande which was not really specified.
The room had a damp smell and generally the building is quite old and has simply had a good make-over. The decor was nice enough and especially the bathroom was nice. Cleanliness could have been a bit better though.
Our biggest disappointment though was the breakfast. No buffet and simply stale bread and pastries that are just sitting on the tables exposed until someone arrives for breakfast. The fruit platter was starting to rot and on our second day the cheeses had melted into the plate, as they were clearly leftovers of the previous day.
All of which would not have been that bothersome at a considerably lower price.
