We chose this hotel due to its location and as it looked recently renovated.
The location is perfect, right in Piazza Santa Maria Novella and a few meters away from the train station.
Breakfast is good enough.
But in our case the good things stop there and it was one of our worst stays, mainly because we had paid for something else and felt mistreated. The lobby looks fresh with nice design, but this hotel merges with another, the "Rosso 23" and you could be given a room in it instead of Garibaldi Blu, as happened in our case.
Rosso 23 is an old hotel. Our room on the first floor had a nice view of the square, but the window frames are old and everything is heard from outside and not protected from the cold. You can not stand beside the windows without a jacket in the dust.
The double room room was separated by a wall of plasterboard from ours and you could hear the water flowing through the pipes when they were showering.
In the morning around 7am the staff brought carts in the corridor and every sound came from the door. If you are requesting sound insulation, this is definitely the most wrong choice. In our last morning a truck did work just below our room from 6 am, making a lot of noise for at least half an hour.
I do not know how things are at Garibaldi Blu, but if I went back, I would definitely check in which hotel the room was given. Please note that as checked online, the rooms at Rosso 23 are around 10% cheaper.
