Nice place, but......
The reception staff member was very good and friendly. We were pleased to have accommodation on the island. Very unhappy that guests had to pay for the leisure facilities outside of a 2 hour window of 7am - 9am. Especially as our plan was to relax in the jacuzzi between check in and dinner. I was not prepared to pay £30 for this, despite a long drive to the hotel.
The room we had had good views. No hand soap was supplied. It was in need of painting.
The food at the on-site restaurant was quite good and the pricing of the food was just above pub restaurant prices, although the wine was overpriced and the drinks choice was fairly limited. Clearly the serving staff need more training as one didn't know what they were serving. The lamb was described as "some kind of steak" when it was brought to the table.
The following day, we were out all day and returned around 9pm, to find that the room had not been cleaned, towels changed or courtesy tray replenished. We had to cross back off of the island to tell the reception that we lacked certain items and report the issue and were told that they had a note to say housekeeping wasn't done because they were short staffed.
Given that we were out all day until late, the hotel had plenty of opportunity for the staff who were available to carry out the tasks.
Apart from "sorry" there was no other recognition that we were inconvenienced.
Overall. Nice place, nice people but further investment in training and decorating required.
