Friuli-Venezia Giulia is a small region that's full of surprises. As well as various natural settings, like the Alpi Giulie (Julian Alps), Dolomiti Friulane (Friuli Dolomites) and the Adriatic to the south forming the Golfo di Trieste (Gulf of Trieste), the region also contains cultural heritage masterpieces and relics of the past, like the Santuario del Monte Lussari (Sanctuary of Monte Lussari) in Tarvisio, and the remains of the trenches of the Great War in Carnia.
The culinary tradition of these spots, touching the far east of Italy, is equally significant. Your itinerary of 12 must-try experiences in Friuli-Venezia Giulia starts in Trieste. Let's go.
