7 Best Family Things to Do in Da Nang

Asia Park Da Nang is a massive amusement park with over 80 indoor and outdoor rides. It's on Phan Dang Luu Street, a 15-minute drive from Da Nang International Airport. Offering great views of Da Nang City and beyond, the main attraction here is a neon-lit Ferris wheel called Sun Wheel. Standing at 115 metres, it has 64 cabins to accommodate up to 384 passengers at a time. 

If you’re afraid of heights, you can explore the theme park via its elevated monorail train. Tickets are inclusive of the park’s monorail ride, Sun Wheel, and access to all rides at Asia Park Da Nang.

My Khe Beach boasts a 20-mile stretch of sand and sea, attracting a huge crowd of locals and travellers during the summer months. Located approximately 6 km east of Da Nang, it is considered one of Vietnam's most picturesque beaches. 

Hosting a number of high-end resorts and seafood restaurants, My Khe Beach is also a popular spot for sunbathing, fishing, snorkelling, jet-skiing, and surfing. Visitors can also check out numerous World Heritage Sites such as Hoi An Ancient Town, Hue Imperial City, and Phing Nga Caves, all of which are easily accessible via taxi or bus.

Ba Na Hills Fantasy Park is an indoor theme park atop Ba Na Chua Mountain, where visiting families can enjoy hours of fun. Some of its most impressive rides include the 29-metre-tall Tower Drop ride, a 3D panoramic cinema that’s imported from Japan, and a 21-metre-tall climbing wall. 

Tickets grant access to all 105 games in Fantasy Park, a funicular train ride, Debay wine cellar, and Le Jardin D’Amour flower garden. We highly recommend spending a night or 2 at Ba Na Chua Mountain as there are plenty of things to see here besides the amusement park.

Non Nuoc Beach in Dan Nang's resort area of Hoa Hai has received international acclaim as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Featuring soft white sands, a gentle slope, unpolluted waters and mild waves, visitors can undertake plenty of leisure activities here, such as, sunbathing, jet-skiing, and surfing whilst enjoying local seafood dishes. 

A 20-minute drive from Da Nang City, Non Nuoc Beach takes up 5 kilometres of Hoa Hai Ward’s coastline, ending at the foot of Marble Mountains, which hosts ancient pagodas, sacred caves, and handicraft villages.

Vincom Shopping Centre is where you can shop for mid-range and upmarket international brands in Da Nang. The 4-storey shopping mall is located on Ngo Quyen Street, about a 5-minute drive from My Khe Beach. 

Open daily, the shopping centre also offers plenty of family-friendly amenities, including an ice-skating rink and games arcade. Other outlets include a large supermarket, a toy shop, a bookstore that sells English publications, as well as a cinema that screens mostly Hollywood films.

Cu Lao Cham Marine Park at Cham Islands is a great spot to explore on a day trip outside Da Nang City. Here, you can enjoy a scenic ride along the coastline, followed by a quick speedboat ride to Cham Islands. 

Popular activities include visiting a local village, fishing, snorkelling and swimming in the clear waters. If you prefer exploring Cu Lao Cham Marine Park on your own, make your way there by taxi or bus to Bach Dang Pier. You can board a public boat from the pier to get to the islands.

Marble Mountains are a cluster of 5 limestone and marble hills within Hoa Hai District, about 9 km south of Da Nang. Named after natural elements, the peaks are individually known as Thuy Son (water), Moc Son (wood), Hoa Son (fire), Kim Son (metal) and Tho Son (earth). There are also a host of 17th-century Buddhist sanctuaries and pagoda temples dotted across the mountains, where locals pray and get their fortunes told. 

A must-do for any first-time visitor to Da Nang is climbing the steps to the top of Marble Mountains, where you can enjoy spectacular views across Non Nuoc Beach or My Khe Beach. Alternatively, there’s an elevator service available for those with physical disabilities.
