This hotel has a great location and potentially a great hotel. You walk in in the elevator that helps you go up to six steps is out of order and was for the whole week. The sewer had backed up and the smell in the elevator, was revolting. Putrid. They did their best, but it was unbearable. they blamed it on the storm that had just passed through, but it had been over a week.
I was on the sixth floor and they are renovating a few of the rooms. There was plastic covering the carpets and workers were there all day but they were pretty quiet.
The room was very pleasant looking however, the air conditioning and heat was a little bit of a problem, as it was new. They are transitioning from radiators to central air. The radiator worked great… When it worked. The last negative thing I have to say is the bed… Not hotel quality. Hard as a rock and very cheap. They need to upgrade their mattresses to more of a pillow top Kush type of mattress. now that I got all of the negative things out of the way. I cannot say enough about the service and the view. The service was top-notch and the view was spectacular. The staff was so accommodating and lovely. The breakfast was good and worth 11£. However, the eggs have something to be desired. The chef needs to work on that. The fish and chips I had for dinner were delicious.
Like I mentioned in the title, this hotel is in transition. Hopefully in another month, it’ll be finished. In the end, great staff, great view great service and great locati
